Entry #4 Halloween Activities
Yesterday, I went to my grandmother's house to participate
in our annual craft day, which we hold for every holiday of the year. My
grandmother and my godmother have been organizing these craft days for about 17
years, ever since my cousin and I were born. It's still fun to attend, even
though I'm 18 years old. I would feel guilty if I stopped attending, especially
considering the effort they put into coming up with ideas for craft day.
Besides, it's always a fun visiting my grandparents and catching up with my
cousins. This time, we crafted a spooky canvas using various items like cotton
for clouds, a wooden spooky house template, and many other things to glue onto
the canvas after painting it.
After crafting, we played bingo, and it turned out to be
surprisingly competitive. The players included me, my two younger brothers
(aged 13 and 7), and my two cousins. I won three out of the five games, which
was pretty funny because my youngest brother got mad since I kept winning
and claiming all the prizes. But, to keep the peace, I gave him the silly
string I won—only for him to spray me with it! After the games and crafting, we
watched a new movie called "Haunted Mansion." I found it pretty good for a family film. When it was time to leave, I hugged my cousins and
grandparents and thanked them for all their hard work and the money they spent
on supplies for our crafting session.
Additionally, yesterday marked the last day of the haunted
Halloween-themed car wash near my house. My younger brother was really scared, but we went anyway since it was the final day, and they wouldn't
host it again until next year. Although we arrived a few minutes late, my dad
managed to persuade the worker to let one last car in. He lied about knowing
the manager, and when the worker asked, "You're DJ?" my dad improvised with a "Yeah." He definitely wasn't DJ. As we went through the
car wash, a clown in the middle scared my little brother, and several people,
dressed in costumes, hid behind the car wash equipment. They would run up to
the windows and bang on them. It wasn't particularly frightening, but it was a
unique experience since I had never been to one of these haunted car washes before.
All in all, yesterday was a pretty fun day.
It's awesome to see that you are still participating in family traditions. Often kids get older and start to think they are "too old" to have fun. Sounds like you had a lot of fun with your family.
ReplyDeleteIt is really cool that you get to have fun with your family traditions for Halloween. It makes me wish I didn't have to work night shifts so I could have fun with my family and celebrate.
